Founded in 1861, the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia's oldest public art gallery. As part of the 150th anniversay celebrations the NGV undertok the Gallery Renewal project that involved significant redesign and refurbishment of several gallery spaces and public spaces at the NGV International, St Kilda Road.
The project included works to the following galleries; Prints & Drawings, Art of the Pacific, Kids Space, Contemporary Projects, Ancient Worlds, Art of Japan, and Art of China & South-East Asia. Additionally, a new Family Room was created and public amenities were upgraded.
HTPS was engaged as Project Manager and Construction Manager and played a key role during the design, detail design, procurement, and construction & installation process. Through strict cost planning & budget control, critical time management and scrupulous attention to detail, HTPS carried out the project whilst the NGV remained open to the public, and successfully delivered the project to world class standard.
The NGV remains one of the most widely visited galleries in the world.
