Metropolitan Remand Centre & Marngoneet Correctional Centre

HTPS were engaged as Project Managers and Construction Managers to run over 50 projects varying in size, complexity and value across both Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC), a maximum security remand facility, and Marngoneet Correctional Centre (MCC), a medium security prison. The works were undertaken whilst the facilities remained in operation.

A major part of the works was the commissioning of a $20 million expansion of MCC. Other projects included the installation of inmate beds and associated furniture to the value of $750,000, the expansion of the prisoner canteen valued at $600,000, and the renovation of the prisoner shop valued at $200,000.

Despite extremely high security and risks, access and time restrictions, and a challenging environment, the projects were successfully delivered, which has greatly assisted Corrections Victoria, and the broader community.
